We completed a task today that took the entire class session. Using some chart paper, we created compartments for four different groups. Then, we had to decide whether print and cursive should still be taught, and we had to present our arguments to all four groups using various sources. A claim and two pieces of proof have to be written down in seven minutes, sometimes longer. Since that was what we accomplished today, class was productive.
Today, we collected notes on the components of crisis rhetoric and location rhetoric. Following that, we read Donald Trump's Border Crisis Address. We annotated the speech and completed a rhetorical device worksheet. We went through everything while we worked on this task, so it wasn't difficult.
