3/24

We viewed movie snippets today and had to identify rhetorical tactics. We're getting ready for an exam on Monday, so this was a bit of a review. We had to determine the aim of the scenes as well as the audience. We did approximately 8 of them on paper before running out of room and doing the rest aloud. We finished class with about 15 minutes remaining, as usual, and played hangman during that time. When class was over, and we headed home.

3/23

Today, we collected notes on the components of crisis rhetoric and location rhetoric. Following that, we read Donald Trump's Border Crisis Address. We annotated the speech and completed a rhetorical device worksheet. We went through everything while we worked on this task, so it wasn't difficult.

3/22

We performed workbook work today. We examined two new rhetorical techniques. Allusion and analogy were the devices used. We did exercises for both, but we didn't have to turn them in because no one completed them. That is what we did for the entire session today.

3/21

Today we just had one task for the entire session. We read and listened to MLK's "I Have a Dream" speech. We had a paper with us and noted down the rhetorical tactics he employed during his speech as well as where they came from. Next we documented his alleged use of each item. We also taught about an antithesis and a hypophora. Afterwards we gave in our papers and discussed for the remaining few minutes of class.

3/20

We took notes for virtually the whole class session today. We had the option of writing them or typing them. I typed them, and we discussed rhetorical strategies. We also discussed how to write a rhetorical analysis. Finally, because we had no idea what syntax was, we went over it. It was the whole period, and the last 15 minutes of class were spent doing nothing.

3/10 (chill typa day)

Today was a pretty chill day. I had some work from my other class, then once i got done with that i was ahead off to my mom's house. Once i got to my mom's house I saw my little sister, the dog, and my other mom. Ngl i was so happy to see them because I have not seen them in a long time since Christmas break now that i think about it because I'm always working. Once i chilled at my momma house for a couple of hours; then after that i went to go out to eat with some of my closest friends.

3/9

We finished writing our synthesis essay today. It wasn't what I was expecting. Despite my expectations that it would be simple, my worry was brought on by the time constraints. Another mistake I made was that I kept changing my mind and making changes as I went along when I ought to have worked to completion and then gone back to review. I'm a little nervous about the AP exam because of the pressure here.

3/8

We reviewed the testing schedule for the upcoming months today. The grading scheme for the free response section of the AP test was then discussed. We had to make an estimate about their score after grading an answer. Although I came close, my estimate was incorrect. Throughout the entire session, we did that and spoke about how we would write our essays the next day.

3/7

Today, we reviewed the prompts we completed before. Mr. Rease examined the prompt at each group before moving on. My group was able to complete that phase quickly because there wasn't really anything to modify. The information on the paper he provided us had to be copied down, and we had to give it to him. We engaged in this activity for the duration of the lesson before it was time to go.

3/6

We completed a task today that took the entire class session. Using some chart paper, we created compartments for four different groups. Then, we had to decide whether print and cursive should still be taught, and we had to present our arguments to all four groups using various sources. A claim and two pieces of proof have to be written down in seven minutes, sometimes longer. Since that was what we accomplished today, class was productive.

3/3

We continued working on our annotation assignment today. I don't have a lot to do because I finished two more annotations. Mr. Rease walked throughout the whole class period while we were doing it to see if anyone needed assistance. Today was a fantastic day all around and was really laid back.

3/2

The wifi was down today, so we completed a straightforward task. The topic of the assignment was locavores and the challenges of organizing a movement as a community. We started by generating some issues, then we compared two sources and chose the one that best backed up our sources. Next, we had to make a point, support it with evidence, and explain it. The whole class hour was spent doing just that.

3/1

We finished the homework we started on yesterday today. There was a procession for the boys basketball team after I finished another annotation. We did that for the majority of the time before returning and relaxing. That was the entire time frame.
